My HF service is one of the most fulfilling things I do because it is all about the kids and their success. I am dedicated to ensuring that all students who attend HF achieve their highest potential and are well prepared for their steps after HF whatever those steps may be — four or two year college, the military, vocational training or a job. That means that we need to offer strong academics, well rounded extracurriculars and strong social/emotional support for the students.

I always come to the first day of school to welcome back our students and staff and think about all of the opportunities our students have to choose from during that school year.

I also look forward to handing out diplomas at graduation because you see all of the excitement, achievement and future potential of our graduates.

Importantly during my tenure on the board, academically we have accomplished so much, including:

  • Increased individual student achievement
  • Increased student enrollment in AP classes
  • Began offering Mandarin Chinese to enable students to be competitive in our global
    world
  • Increased the IB program courses to offer more choice in response to student feedback
  • Launched the MVP program and authorized the Fine Arts wing expansion

I am proud to say that we are able to achieve all of these amazing results for our students while being fiscally responsible to our community. For example:

  • Through hard work with our legislators, we have obtained a property tax grant that we will enable us to rebate a portion of homeowners’ real estate taxes.
  • We just conducted an operations/HR audit done by a highly respected retired Assistant Superintendent who extolled our operations and emphasized how professionally and effectively our administrators performed despite being so leanly staffed compared to other school districts.

It would be my greatest honor and privilege to be re-elected so that I can contribute more to ensuring HF’s continued success and growth. With your support, we can accomplish so much for our students.

Thank you,
Debbie
